Gary Gibbon (born 15 March 1965, Harrow) is political editor for Channel 4 News. Previously, he had served as political correspondent at Channel 4 News since 1994. He has worked on four general elections for Channel 4 News and covered the peace process in Northern Ireland.

Education

Gibbon was educated at The John Lyon School, a day independent school for boys in Harrow in West London.

Life and career

Gibbons' interview with Peter Mandelson in 2001 triggered the Northern Ireland Secretary's second resignation from the Cabinet. He won the 2006 RTS Home News Award with Jon Snow for his scoop on the Attorney General's Legal Advice on Iraq, and revealed details of Tony Blair's pre-war meeting with George W. Bush. He was also awarded Political Broadcaster of the Year award by Parliamentary Brief magazine in 2008.
